Do I need to install drivers after building a Windows 7 machine?

I just installed Windows 7 on a newly built PC. Do I need to install things like chipset and video card drivers? Everything seems to be working great right out of the box.|||hmmmm|||In most cases, no. If your system hardware is popular enough, or new enough, meaning at minimum the age of Windows XP, or in most cases even Windows 2000, Windows 7 driver base should be able to detect your hardware and install most drivers for it.

If the installation doesn't install the drivers, so long as you have an active network connection, Windows Update should be able to surf the web and find most drivers for most hardware, provided again if the hardware is generic/popular and not overly-aged.|||Hi CRex,

If your computer is operating without a hitch, I am guessing Windows 7 automatically found drivers for you via updates. If you find that your devices are not working properly, I recommend visiting the manufacturer websites and downloading the correct drivers for Windows 7.

Enjoy Windows 7!

Microsoft Windows Outreach|||I would recommend you do, I'm not sure how 7 works, but drivers are the connection between the OS and the hardware installed, and not having that connection in place can cause major issues in the future. So I would recommend installing them and updating regularly, good luck with your new PC...|||yes you can but sometime ther is problem with the window 7 to install the software i also use the window 7 but when i try to install the oracle or c# software it do not support and there is problem|||hi, in my oppinion, yes. and i can also share you a video driver download link:

maybe you did it already but you just didn't realize it|||if everythings working fine you wont have a problem .........
