Bad Video Card Driver Minecraft Error Windows 7?

Hi, i recently downloaded minecraft on my brand new HP windows 7 laptop and when i try to run it ( in browser and also dowloaded version) I get the following error:

Bad video card drivers!

-----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.

This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

I have 8GB of RAM and have tried updating my graphics cards through windows update which told me i have the latest version, and also through AMD.com which auto detected my driver and told me to download some "catalyst mobility 64-bit" driver which wouldnt download due to incompatible hardware/software on my computer. It also said the version of my graphics adapter is not supported. Please help me, i played minecraft frequently on my old computer and would like to be able to on my new one.|||Make sure you have the current driver for your video card. Download latest Minecraft client if not already present and rename the downloaded Minecraft.exe to Minecraft.jar.Open a command prompt and type: java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\***\Minecraft.jar". The quote is where your Minecraft.jar is in.

  1. exactly the same here. the only difference is that i didn't tried this: "Open a command prompt and type: java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\***\Minecraft.jar"". btw, the error given when trying to download catalyst is kind of stupid...is almost the same as telling that HP is responsible for it... puting incompatible software and hardware in the same machine
