Does this video card support Windows 7?

i have to buy a new video card because the one i have doesnt support windows 7 and there are no drivers or anything for it. it only supports windows xp... so i was looking for some new video cards and came across this one.. Is a 256MB AGP Sparkle GeForce FX 5500 Video Card compatible with Windows 7?? Because as of right now i cant put a screen saver or anything on my computer because my video card doesnt support Win7..it says..The screen saver cant run because it requires a newer video card or one thats compatible with Direct3D..also what is Direct 3D and does is this a compatible video card?!? thanks

FIRST GOOD ANSWER GETS NAMED BEST ANSWER VOTED BY ME =)|||WOW! first off what computer are you using? that's the very important factor right there. May want to call your computer manufactor for advice on a video card, IF they have one. As you may know -computers are touchy,Windows7 should be automated, If you desire to stick with XP, you'll have to check with windows or dell computers that have the magazines on that, XP is slowly being fazed out. Radio shack might be helpfull, Walmart MIGHT be the best bet, or go to best buy. Direct 3d is a new feature that I have noticed lately on my computer, it's supposed to aid in visualizations, giving that new indept 3D effect compared to what you get at movies, only somewhat different on computers. I haven't noticed any real benefit from it myself. Stores may not have the new 3D video card yet or may not have any at all. You may want to start reading books and magazines on computers, even with all the high tech stuff I've read particularly on windows vista and that very magazine, yes it's helped me to a point of knowing SOMETHING about computer parts. Most importantly, have to make sure and absolutely sure the part you need matches that computer, That's why you need to call the manufactor. Sorry I can't help with the necessary high tech info you seek, but XP is going by way of windows 7 going into 8.|||i don't see any windows 7 drivers for it so i would have to say no
