I was wondering if i still have to look for a driver and install it for it to work properly on my computer with windows 7 x64?|||Unless he 7 OS recognises the card and finds drivers for it, yes.|||Yeah, for the card to work you'll need to get the drivers for it which correspond to the type of Operating System you're using, whether that's an upgrade from XP to Windows 7, or just W7 32bit to 64bit|||Yes you will have to, you will have to go to device manager and right click on your graphics card and click update driver software and it will auto search, download and install your driver.

How do i reinstall the driver for my video card?
I'm having problems with my PC and my friend told me that i need to reinstall the driver for my video card.
I have a windows 7 os.
Thanks
and also how do i find out what video card i have installed.|||you have to find the right size and model for it. Then unscrew the driver, make sure you touch your fingers on metal surface first as it can cause electric estatitics.|||http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…|||hi,
to check the video card details type devmgmt.msc in run and press enter to open your device manager.
Now open the Display Adapters category and you will see the name of display adapter.
Now check for the update at the manufacturer site if you are not able to get updates there then you can try the driver updating applications like Driver Detective, Driver Agent or Advanced Driver Optimizer they will get you the latest updates 4 ur drivers so u dont have to search them they will download the latest updates and will install them .
u can try there trial version to see if they show updates. I prefer Advanced Driver Optimizer as with it I have to just scan and can update all my drivers in single click just a best optimizer for driver.
The best part is if it installed incorrect driver then I can roll back using their restore facility.|||hi, i guess this program can help you do this. and here is the page for video driver:
http://www.drivers-updates.net/drivers/v…
http://www.drivers-updates.net/drivers/w… drivers may work with 7, you can have a try)

I upggraded to windows 7 video card prob?
Ok so i need to install a driver for an ati radeon xpress1100 but all it is on compaq is for vista not 7 any help?|||Hi Mike,
I agree with Air Canada, visit ATI Radeon's website to find the correct driver - http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSuppo…
If you still cannot find the driver for Windows 7, give the Vista driver a try. Vista drivers often do the trick in Windows 7 as well :)
Cheers,
Cassandra

Note: AMD’s DirectX 9 ATI Radeon graphics accelerators are not officially supported under Windows 7. If the user chooses to, they can install the ATI Catalyst Windows Vista graphics driver under Windows 7. Please be aware that none of the new Windows 7 graphics driver (WDDM 1.1) features are supported (as the Windows Vista level graphics driver is limited to WDDM 1.0 level support). Using the ATI Catalyst Windows Vista driver under Windows 7 is not officially supported by AMD, and as such AMD will not provide any form of customer support for users running in this configuration.

Do I need to install drivers after building a Windows 7 machine?
I just installed Windows 7 on a newly built PC. Do I need to install things like chipset and video card drivers? Everything seems to be working great right out of the box.|||hmmmm|||In most cases, no. If your system hardware is popular enough, or new enough, meaning at minimum the age of Windows XP, or in most cases even Windows 2000, Windows 7 driver base should be able to detect your hardware and install most drivers for it.
If the installation doesn't install the drivers, so long as you have an active network connection, Windows Update should be able to surf the web and find most drivers for most hardware, provided again if the hardware is generic/popular and not overly-aged.|||Hi CRex,
If your computer is operating without a hitch, I am guessing Windows 7 automatically found drivers for you via updates. If you find that your devices are not working properly, I recommend visiting the manufacturer websites and downloading the correct drivers for Windows 7.
Enjoy Windows 7!
